Gents Section

Welcome to the Gents Section at Driffield Golf Club! Our section is made up of a vibrant community of male golfers of all ages and abilities who share a passion for the game.

Our members enjoy access to our beautiful 18-hole parkland course, which boasts stunning views of the surrounding countryside and provides a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. We offer a range of competitions throughout the year, including singles, pairs, and team events, as well as regular medal and stableford competitions.

In addition to golf, we have a lively social scene with a range of events and activities throughout the year, including quiz nights, themed dinners, and guest speakers. We also have a fully-stocked bar and a comfortable lounge area where members can relax and socialize after a round of golf.

We are proud to offer a welcoming and inclusive environment where golfers of all levels can come together to enjoy the sport and build lasting friendships. Whether you are a seasoned pro or a newcomer to the game, we invite you to join us and become part of our community at Driffield Golf Club.

Seniors Section

The Seniors' Section at Driffield Golf Club is a warm and welcoming community that originated in 1979 as the 'Elderly Gentlemans Golf Society' or EGGS. Eligibility to join is open to those aged 55 and above with an annual subscription of £5.00 to cover minor expenses and trophy engraving.

In November, the Annual General Meeting is held to elect the section's Captain, Vice Captain, Treasurer, and Secretary and to discuss matters for the following year.

The section plays Home & Away 4BBB matches with Senior sections from several other golf clubs, including Brough, Beverley, Filey, Flamborough Head, Ganstead Park, Hainsworth Park, Hessle, Hornsea, Hull (Kirkella), Malton & Norton, The Oaks, Scarborough North Cliff, and Scarborough South Cliff golf clubs. The section also has several internal competitions such as Seniors v Driffield Ladies, Seniors & Driffield Ladies Mixed Greensome, 3 Clubs & Putter, Past-Captains AM/AM, Winter Eclectic (Oct-Mar), Eggs Annual Away-Day, Monthly Wooden Cup (which is a qualifying competition), Summer Knockout, Winter Greensomes, and Annual Seniors Captain v Seniors Vice Captain team event.

Driffield Golf Club hosts three annual Senior events, including an Open, a Mixed Open, and an AM/AM. To learn more about joining the Seniors' Section, contact the office on 01377 253116.

Rabbits Section

handicap of 16 to 28, and joining promises interesting golf and quality friendship. Driffield Golf Club is affiliated with the Flamborough & District Rabbit Golf Association, along with the Scarborough and Bridlington clubs, Filey, Flamborough, Whitby, Kirkbymoorsde, and Malton. From August to March, Alliance and Trophy matches are played at all these clubs for those picked in our team by the Rabbits’ captain. The best overall alliance score for Driffield wins the Rabbit Section Len Wilson Trophy.

At Driffield, the best Rabbit Section player in the June Medal receives the Kenneth Wilson Trophy; July Medal, the Wilkinson Cup; September medal, the Anniversary Trophy. The Hilton Carnes Trophy is awarded for the best 3 medal scores. These are all held on Saturdays and awarded by our club, but planned for 2016, a new Trophy from the Rabbit Section will be awarded for the best 3 midweek Stableford scores.

The section also has many other trophies and pots, including the Rabbit’s Pot for the best score on the Club Captain’s day, Buck Rabbit Trophy for the best male score, Buck &Doe Trophy for the best mixed team on the Rabbit Captain’s day, the Turner Cup for the best pair on the Rabbit Captain’s Away Day, and two Winter Knockout competitions with the King Rabbit Cup for the singles and the Rabbits’ Knockout Cup for the pairs.
